Storyselling
A marketing approach that uses narrative techniques, rather than direct pitches, to sell products or services by building emotional connection.
Explanation
Storyselling combines storytelling craft with a sales objective: instead of listing features, a brand builds a narrative with characters, tension, and resolution that leads the audience toward wanting the product. It draws on older ideas from advertising and copywriting about emotional persuasion, packaged under a term used mainly in marketing and sales-training content since the 2010s. Attention is scarce and consumers are skeptical of overt advertising, so a well-told story can carry a sales message further than a direct claim, particularly in video, social content, and brand campaigns.
