Explanation
A2A is an open standard Google announced in April 2025 and now governed by the Linux Foundation. It lets AI agents from different vendors discover one another, hand off tasks, and coordinate work across company and platform boundaries. As martech stacks add agents for campaign optimization, creative generation, and reporting, A2A is the interoperability layer that keeps those agents from operating in isolated silos. Google's launch listed more than 50 founding partners, growing to over 150 supporters within a year.
